xp64 printer install problem, services, print spool and RPC proble Urik of Vancouver 11/24/2008 5:48:06 PM Can't install 64 bit Dell lazer printer. Error message; printer spool not activated, or RPC not running. Turn both on, but while trying to install, printer spool automatically turns off. Wizard will not work due to these issues. any ideas?

If you attempted to install this Dell printer previously get the uninstall program from Dell for this device and remove the driver. Once it is remove run the add printer wizard a create a fake printer that uses driver form the OS on LPT1: No that you have the spooler service running try the Dell install again.
