I am not familiar with doing that, but let me ask - why not just use the dual outputs of one of the video cards to run the two monitors?
I have an 8800 GTS card and use the dual dvi outputs to power a 22" widescreen lcd and a 19" lcs. I set them up to extend the desktop onto the secondary monitor and can drag programs over to it to run. Does not seem to hurt performance in any of my games.
