Remote Desktop session with /span option forced to 8bit color Michael 11/11/2008 11:51:01 PM When I remote into my computer (XP x64) with the /span option, color is forced to 8 bit. I recently upgraded from 32bit XP, and never had this problem. I found this article, but it is specific to 32bit Server 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942610 I have all the latest updates installed from Microsoft Update site. After many hours of searching, I'm ready to admit defeat. Thanks for any help.

Click the link at the top of the page and you will be emailed a link to a hotfix. When you unzip the hotfix (need password from email) the resulting executable has XP in the name and installs fine...best of all it solved the problem!
