[CTP3]how to set Unrestricted ExecutionPolicy
applepwc 12/23/2008 11:56:03 AM
PS C:\> Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy:Unrestricted -Scope:LocalMachine

Set-ExecutionPolicy : Windows PowerShell updated your execution policy
successfully, but the setting is overridden by a policy defined at a more
specific scope. [/snippet]

from "releaseNotes.rtf" :"Windows PowerShell V2 CTP3 uses the execution
policy setting from the previous installation of Windows PowerShell, if
present"
But previous installation I had set "Unrestricted".

And another question:
why no Full help : get-help Set-ExecutionPolicy -full or -detaild are both
summary.
Can I replace some files from powershell v1 to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

I also got this with XP SP2, from what I can remember... I can't
remember how I fixed it just yet... I'll have to think about it.

I am on Vista Ultimate SP1. Looks like CTP3 is not honoring the execution
policy set by me in CTP2 in spite of what the Release Notes say.

It seems to be set correctly in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\PowerShell\1\ShellIds\Microsoft.PowerShell\executionPolicy]
but not in
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\PowerShell\1\ShellIds\Microsoft.PowerShell\executionPolicy]. I too had to manually change it here to "unrestricted"
