Show folders by default in Explorer
TC2004 12/22/2008 5:39:01 PM
Hi,

I am trying to customize the folder view in Explorer (looking at files), so
that the folders are automatically shown on the left hand side.

Everytime I open the application, I have to click on the folders icon. I
have tried to customize a folder to my liking and then checking the box for
"apply to all folders" under Tools/Folder/Options/View, to no avail.

I do not have administrator rights on this computer.

Any insights?

Thanks.

Instead of Tools/Folder/Options/View, go to
Tools/Folder Options/File Types,
select "Folder" (not "File Folder") near the top of the list,
and click Advanced button
then select "explore" and click "Set Default" button.

This may not work if you are not an administrator.
