The RPC server is unavailable - Error 1053 - 1058 - 1030
Eric De Moor 11/5/2008 12:38:10 PM
I have a domain with 1 domain controller (Xeon 2,8 Ghz 2 processors - 4 Gb -
RAID 5 data disk and RAID 0 system disk) and 2 terminal servers (Xeon 2,8 Ghz
1 processor - 4 Gb - RAID 0 system disk). There are running all Windows 2003
Standard English SP 2

We have somethimes problems that users couln't logon to the terminal server
(The RPC server is unavailable). On this moments, the users who are logged on
in this server can work normal and can connect there data on the domain
controller/data server. When this is happens, it is mostly posible to logon
to the second Terminal server. Afther a while this problem is solved
authomaticly.
In most cases, this problem happens on different times on both servers, but
it happens more times on the server with most users connected (SRV02 - ca. 40
users - TS02 - ca. 20 users)

I changed the setting "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" to "Default" but I have
the same errors on my Remote Desktop connection.

I found the solution for this problem.

On my servers I had the DNS-settings from my provider in the properties of
the LAN-adapter.
I replaced this with only the DNS of my own DNS-server and put the DNS off
my provider in the forwarders on my DNS-server

this solved the problem

Kindest Regards
