Hey everyone,
I am running WSUS 3.0 and I deleted a computer group with all the PCs in it. Can someone tell me how to make WSUS rescan for all computers on the network?
Thanks,
Clayton

[1] Wait. All computers will check back in and repopulate the computer group within 22 hours (or the configured detection interval if not the default value). This presumes, however, that you have recreated the accidentally deleted computer group.
=or=
[2] Temporarily reconfigure your policy to have a one hour detection. Combined with the delay to refresh group policy, this will reduce the time to repopulate the group to about two hours. (The detection will occur immediately upon the policy refresh.) Remember to set the detection interval back to the original value after four hours.
=or=
[3] Walk around to each computer (or use remote access), and run the command 'wuauclt /detectnow'.

Thank you very much Lawrence!
If I wanted to change the detection interval where would I do that, I've been looking for it?

It's configured in the GPO you set up; or use Local Policy.
Alternatively, although not recommended, you can edit the registry directly.
The wherefores and howtos of the policy and/or registry settings are documented in the WSUS Operations Guide.
For policy, enable the policy "Automatic updates detection frequency", and set the time to the desired interval. (One hour in the specific scenario being discussed here.)
Or, in the registry, in the subkey HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
Create or edit the value "DetectionFrequencyEnabled" and set it to dword:0x1 (enabled). Create or edit the value "DetectionFrequency" and set it to dword:0x1 (1 hour).
