wsus basic question Trey 12/3/2008 5:12:06 PM I just installed wsus and believe I have everything set correctly. If I go to a workstation that is pointed at wsus and run live update in IE it still goes to microsofts web site. Is this how it works or should that direct to my wsus server?

You can check for correct operation in %WINDIR%\WindowsUpdate.log and on the WSUS console. -- "Get back to your stations!" To force update, type the following in the Run box: wuauclt.exe /detectnow Vista gives you an option to check for updates on Microsoft servers or your own WSUS. It does not force updating.
