Migrating DHCP from 2000 to 2003
cpuwzrd 12/23/2008 8:41:01 PM
I have found 2 articles on how to perform this action.

Microsoft Article ID: 325473 - Last Review: March 27, 2007 - Revision: 19.5
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325473 shows how to perform this action.

A tech republic article was written by William C. Schmied
http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10878_11-5034284.html (wrote from
2002-03-19 to 2004-12-28) and only had 3 responses that were questions or
statements. No comments about actually using or having success with these
instructions were found.

While the article written up in Tech Republic sounds nice and easy, I must
ask if it is too good to be true. Why would the Microsoft KB article be so
different? There has got to be some type of caveat.

Thanks for your help...without I.T. folks willing to help out other I.T.

Look like both the solution is similar. Better go for MS article. You can revert any time in case of failure. Just stop the DHCP service in win2k3 and start the same in 2k server. -- dkumar ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dkumar's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/dkumar.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/server-migration/1092342.htm http://forums.techarena.in
