1. The more RAM, the better, and the faster the harddrive (SCSI drives with spindle speeds such as 15,000 RPM), the better. 2. Windows DNS can handle this with no problems. I believe I read one poster a few years ago mentioned he had 8000 zones without problems. BIND, and a number of other DNS server services available on the market, as well.
