Slow login into Windows 2000 domain ( Dimitar Dimitrov 12/24/2008 12:32:02 PM I am in progres to move from WinNT domain to Win2000 AD. But each Windows 2000 pro and Windows XP clients are very slow loged into Windows2000 AD (in mixed mode) - around 3-4 min. I have another WinNT domain that trust Win2000 AD. Others clients WinNT and Vista are loged fast to Windows2000 AD. I will stop WinNT domain after mooving each client to new Win2000 Active directory. Will this help to increase login speed? If not, what i have to do?

AD MUST have a DNS server to support the AD domain. DNS for AD is totally different than DNS for NT. Domain internal use only the ip's of the domain DNS server not any external like ISP's DNS. But it is possible to have problems with it, because it does not resoleve Internet URLs, just internal LAN's URLs.
