Wrong Name in TS Manager
Parag 12/29/2008 12:15:01 AM
I have just installed Win 2008. I had originally named the machine
'Server2'. Now I've changed the name to 'Server'. When I now open TS
Manager, I get an error message saying
"The specified computer cannot be reached, Make sure that the computer is
accessible and verify computer name"

When I click 'ok' on the pop up error message, terminal services manager
opens and I can see 'server2.xyz.lan' (xyz being my domain and this computer
is the domain controller). The tabs for 'user' and 'session' and 'processes'
are empty (of course).

My question is
1. How do I add my new server name here.
2. Or how else can I view or discount remote users connected to this machine.

I would appreciate any and all help.

Thanks

You're running TS on a domain controller?

I suspect that if you've already got your TS licenses installed, renaming
the server will have broken something. In addition, I'm fairly certain you
can't just rename a DC that way. Have you tried the obvious step of naming
it back to SERVER2?
