Failed to apply User Policy from GPO on Windows XP. Event ID 1086
anjey <anjey.lobas[ at ]gmail.com> 10/10/2008 5:34:21 AM
I have a following problem. My DC is running Windows 2008 Server with
domain and forest function level native 2008.

I have some client computers running Windows 2000 and some running
windows XP. On Windows 2000 everything seemed to be OK with GPO. But
on XP machines i've got following error while applying User Policies
from GPO:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1086
Date: 08.10.2008
Time: 15:02:57
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: RC-505-01
Description:
Windows cannot do loopback processing for downlevel or local users.
Loopback processing will be disabled.

GPO, User Object and Computer object are in the same domain. Computer
object and User object are in different OU. Booth OU have different
GPOs linked to them. Windows XP do not apply User Policies from GPO,
linked to OU where user object resides.

Pls help to solve this problem.
Thx!

P.S.: sorry for my bad English.

Hello anjey,

Which XP version and SP do you run? Is this only on one machine/user account
or on all?

Best regards
