Cannot get this update for WSUS 3.0 SP1 to install.
Have tried rebooting
Have tried safe mode and of course it would not install there either
Using SBS2003 SP2

I have several hotfixes that I was not able to install.
Installation consistently failed on Windows 2003 R2
Sp2 x64. There were hotfixes 942830, 942831 and
110806 that I managed to install manually. After restart
I was able to to install hotfix 948109 and 954960
directly from MS update server.
Is the 954960 the only hotfix that you cannot install?

Well... that depends. Are you trying to install KB954960 on the =WSUS=
server, or on some other 64-bit server? KB954960 is only targeted at the
WSUS Server.
Second, do you even *need* this update??? The update is designed to assist
in scenarios in which clients running Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1
have difficulties communicating with the WSUS Server to obtain approvals. If
you don't have Microsoft Office 2003 installed, or you've already upgraded
to Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2 (which, btw, was released in Sept
2005, followed by SP3 released in Sept 2007, and, you should note, Office
2003 SP2 becomes an unsupported environment on the 14th of this month), then
the update is not applicable.
Personally, rather than lose sleep over KB954960 -- I'd recommend making
sure all of your Office 2003 environments are updated to Service Pack 3 --
and then this update becomes irrelevant.
Of course, if you have Office 2003 Service Pack 1 systems installed and
you're trying to update them using WSUS, then you might, in fact, need this
update! :-)

Lawrence, Thank you for the "education" I think I got wrapped up more in the
update failing than I did in the "do I need this" ...... You are correct in
your answer that it is NOT a needed update on the WSUS server in my case.
