Moving KMS for Vista and Windows 2008 server to another computer

Hello -

The server that holds our KMS for Vista is about to be retired. I've
installed a new windows 2008 server (I will have 5 running in the next day
or two to meet the 5 minimum for the volume activation) and applied tmy
windows 2008 KMS key it says it activated successfully and that that server
now says its been activated).

I fired up the other windows 2008 servers and didnt see any entries in event
view on the 2008 server for KMS requests. I did see in the old server log
that the new 2008 servers were hitting it for the activation requests. I
looked in DNS and didnt see the new KMS server listed in there.

Do I simply uninstall KMS off the old 2003 server, and run the command to
publish the new KMS serveR(running on 2008 )?
I also need to apply my vista key that is running on the old KMS server, do
I just apply it to the new box?

Thanks,

Ed

I would post this in the Technet Windows 2008 general forum

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/winservergen/threads/

Darrell Gorter from Microsoft usually picks up any questions on activation
and/or KMS.
