No NFS Sharing on pop-up menu
SBSAdminGoingCrazy 12/29/2008 12:23:00 AM
I'm trying to configure a newly deployed Windows 2008 Standard server (with
latest updates/patches) as a NFS Server.

I am following the instructions found at
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753302.aspx
Services for NFS Step-by-Step Guide for Windows Server 2008

I have the NFS Server service running fine.

It states midway through the documentation:

To create a shared folder using NFS sharing
On the computer running Server for NFS, create a folder to use as the NFS
shared folder.

Right-click the folder you created and click NFS Sharing.

Select Share this folder.

The problem though is that I don't see the NFS Sharing on the menu when I
right mouse click the folder. Just "Sharing" which is normal windows sharing.

Can anyone help me with this.

Hollis

Also - while I'm at it - I want to use Active Directory Lookup. My goal is
to use my Win2008 NFS server to mount shares on an ESX host. I read in the
instructions: Before using Active Directory Lookup, you must install and
populate the Identity Management for UNIX Active Directory schema extension,
included in Windows Server 2008. But no other instructions are given on how
to do this. How do I do this?
