Conflicting answers when googling. On a DC with AD Integrated DNS that I want to demote, do I demote DC first then uninstall DNS, or do I uninstall DNS then demote DC. All fsmo roles have been moved to among 2 other DCs, thse 2 DCs are also running AD Integrated DNS, and the server is no longer a gc or pointing to self for DNS.
It's the AD Integration factor I am concerned about. I want absolutely no chance that DNS removal on this server will affect DNS on the other DCs. (Been there.)
Thanks, jremmc

Thanks, Meinolf, but the issue is whether to uninstall DNS before or after DC demotion when the server is hosting AD-Integrated DNS. All decommission steps have been taken. I'm concerned that uninstalling DNS when the server hosts ADI zones will mess up other DCs ADI DNS. But I'm also concerned that I read in some places to uninstall DNS first before executing a DC demotion.

Hi Jremmc,
Thanks for posting here.
Concerning about the DNS server, in the demotion process of DC, it will automatically remove the corresponding SRV records of the domain in the Active Directory Integrated Zone on all the DNS servers. Because there are some other application may be depends on the DNS service in the environment, we would like to suggest that you may demote the DC , and then you may uninstall the DNS server.
Hope it helps.
