We have to put the App Server and DB server on the same machine, if we need to have NLB for the web farm and clustering for DB, is this possible and would there be any issue?

Hi,
I think this can be done but you need a nic for the heardbeat, cluster public lan, and a nic for the NLB. But for the NLB nic you must set the disable ( enable this network for cluster use ) -cluster conf-networks.
Becarefull that the trafic goes to the right NIC.

I disagree with Robert on this.
No, do not do this, while you might be lucky and able to make it work. A configuration like this would not be a supported or qualified configuration.
do not do this.
Rgds, Edwin.

Edwin,
You are right it is not supported but it wil work. Sometimes you need to make choices supported or not. I know the right way is get supported but I see to often that customers build something that is not supported, and choose for the "el cheepo "version
Pbx ask it it wil work and yes it can work but I for get to say it is in no way supported and there for a bad solution.
Greetings,
Robert

Unsupported and High Availability do not go hand in hand. A company that has a need for high availability would be violating many tenents of HA by using an unsupported solution.

Sorry, but in my previous post, I should have clearly stated that it is my opinion on the matter, and I can see that Robert agrees that it is a bad idea.
