Weird Keycode question...
XS11E <xs11e[ at ]NOSPAMyahoo.com> 6/22/2007 7:34:13 PM

As mentioned previously, I lost my key to XP 64. I did find a key but
I haven't any idea what it's for, if you think my computer is a bit
disorganized, your right!

Is there any way to look at a key and tell what it's for? Any software
that might do that? I do NOT want to try and install the software and
find out it's the wrong key.

Try Belarc Advisor (http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html)

God Bless...

Since XP-64 isn't installed, Belarc Advisor would be of no use in
finding that key, would it?

As for the unidentified key, if it will recognize a key printed on a
piece of paper and identify it somehow I'd be impressed but I doubt
that it will....

HEllo XS11E,
You can send me the key and I will attempt to take a look at it to see if I
can determine what it belongs to.
Remove the online word from the email address.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

Don't be sorry, I appreciate the response. I wish the OS were
installed but it appears that it's not going to be since the key (along
with most of my other MSDN keys) is gone with the hard drive. I wrote
MSDN to see if there was a way to recover the keys after my
subscription has expeired but there's been no reply so it looks like
I'm out of luck.

Much more than the keys I miss the pictures that I lost which can never
be replaced. :-(

I learned a good thing, I guess, one or two or even three backups are
NOT adequate. I thought image files were the answer, I was wrong....
