XP64 and SP2

I have XP64 bit and applied SP2 - no problems until I try to run the "Help
and Support" - I get an error saying the service is not running.
I have tried many suggestions from the web including re installing the help
system, but to no avail - the "Help and Support" service does not appear
when I run "services.msc".

Thanks in anticipation,
Dave

Here's a wild shot in the dark, will "Help and Support" run if you
remove SP2? Try it, see of it runs, then re-install SP2 and see if
there's any change.

I haven't seen this before in XP x64, but it has shown up in SBS
installations. There's a KB for SBS out there on it. The basic problem is
that the service needs to be reinstalled. There's a KB: 937231, but the
basic steps to fix it are:

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Navigate to %windir%\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries
3. Run “start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install”
4. Once this command completes the Help and Support service should now
appear in services.msc
5. Start the Help and Support service

Adjust as required for XP x64, but that should help.
