# of procs "Andre" <nospam[ at ]spam.com> 7/5/2007 5:14:44 PM Windows 2003 x64 sp1 Without rebooting, how can I tell how many procs my box has? Task manager shows 4, system info shows 4, and I "think" I have 2 dual-core procs. I need to know for sure, without bouncing the box. I also want to make sure that 1 dual-core hyperthreaded proc doesn't show up as 4 procs. Thanks, Andre

When I do the same in Win2003 x64 it just shows one proc. So, I was hoping there would be a way to know for sure. I don't want to assume it's really a dual-proc box only to find that it's a single proc with dual-cores and hyperthreading turned on - and it shows up as 4 procs in task manager. Andre

I can't answer about hyperthreading, but I do know that with dual core CPUs each core is shown as an individual entry under 'Processors' in the device manager. In the Task Manager you may have to click on the 'Performance' tab and then pull down 'View' and 'CPU History' and then select 'One Graph per CPU' if that option is available to you. Are there any drivers that need to be installed for your CPU(s)?
