back to beta version??

I run xp64 on my laptop suddenly my sound stops working and i do the normaly
thing rebooting my pc. but when i get log back in my screen saver gets the
tag you normaly have in beta/evulution version of windows saying i run:

Windows xp professional x64 Edition
For testing purposes only, Build 3790 (service pack 2)

how is this possible its a full version?

Although that message comes up it's not necessarily the
truth. Build 3790 was the final testing version of SP2 and
apparently the files didn't get cleaned up before they were
released it as the Final/RTM version. I downloaded SP2 from
Microsoft and slipstreamed into SP1. After I burned the CD,
I got the same message you did when the EULA screen came up
during setup.

i know, but the real question is why this suddenly apairs now i been running
sp2 sinze the release and not when i installed sp2
