Sounds like you've done a good job of identifying the problem driver. You can try a system restore to a point before you installed this driver. Or, given that this is a new system, I'd be sorely tempted to just start over again. It's a pain, but may be the simplest if uninstalling the driver doesn't work. I'd also let Asus know there's a problem with the driver, though I'm not confident that they'll do much.
