Poppy: If she bought the PC from a qualified vendor, then she should ask him for help. If she bought the PC from a private "assembler" maybe he/she can help. If device manager shows no devices this may be due to several factors. 1.- Onboard sound: Maybe disabled accidentaly when playing with BIOS settings? 2.- Device driver: Uninstalled by accident? Try to explain her system more thoroughly. It seems that your native language is not English. If it is Spanish and you feel more comfortable with it, then use it. I will be there for you. Carlos
