Send to - Mail Recipient issue
Dale 6/20/2007 4:35:00 PM
I set the default mail program in Internet Explorer to Microsoft Office
Outlook instead of Outlook Express - but everytime I right click a file and
choose SENT TO - MAIL RECIPIENT it continues to default to Outlook Express?
Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks.

I think this will fix it...

http://www.slipstick.com/config/defaultmailer.htm

If not I will post again.

Link below didn't help - quickest workaround is to hit START - go to RUN -
type SENDTO - hit OK and drag Outlook 2003 shortcut to the window - then
right click the file you want to send and choose Microsoft Outlook off the
SEND TO menu.

Hello Dale,
So there are many different ways of calling mail to start.
Changing the defaults inside Internet Explorer is only one of the entry
points to call an email handler.

Right-click on a file and doing a sendto should be via a regisry entry for
mapimail.
Located the sendto entry and right-clicked on it and choose properties.
Which points to mapimail.

Locate this entry in the regisgtry- Searched for .mapimail in
HKey_Classes_Root, then searched for the the GUID from that entry.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{9E56BE60-C50F-11CF-9A2C-00A0C90A90CE}
Currently the Friendlynametype entry to
[ at ]%SystemRoot%\system32\sendmail.dll,-26
Since this is a 64-bit dll it will call the 64-bit mail provider.

This is caller for 32-bit email
Try changing the Friendlynametype entry to
[ at ]%SystemRoot%\syswow64\sendmail.dll,-26

Not sure if this works since we are calling a 32-bit dll from inside a
64-bit application( explorer)
but try it and report back.

Thanks,
