I think it would be a really good idea for you to run a spyware scanner. If
you don't have one, get one and carefully read the documentation. It's
probably not really harmfull at this stage, but whatever it is might slow
down your business and make you a target for irritating direct-mail
offerings, and it's not going away on it's own.
