Dual Boot Funny
"Johns" <johneastwell[ at ]ntlworld.comspam> 6/16/2007 1:52:52 PM

Have my machine set to dual boot with WIN98SE and XP, both work fine,
but....

When I reboot there are two different boot sequences which happen on
alternate boots, irrespective of which OP I am or have been using.

Boot Sequence 1: Both boot options are presented with countdown selector, I
am unable to select and the computer goes to the default OP (XP) and
proceeds until the user splash screen is presented to select user and
password. Neither the mouse or keyboard is active and I have to press the
reset button.

Boot Sequence 2: Both boot options are presented with countdown selector
(sometimes) I can select either OP system and the machine boots up Ok.

As I said before these boot options present alternatively and not randomly.
Help !!

Do you have a USB or PS2 connector on your Keyboard?

If you can try a USB keyboard and mouse, maybe borrow one from a friend.
My PS2 Keyboard Connector on the Motherboard
started to get flaky and finally just went south. Mouse still worked
Ok. So I had a USB keyboard I swapped out.
