I am running XP home edition and accidentally reformatted my "D" drive which
has all the recovery info. Is there anyway I can get this info back?

Thanks

Contact the manufacturer of the computer.

You might be able to do this with data recovery software. Or just
contact the computer mftr. and get physical recovery disks instead.
Usually these recovery disks are not very expensive and are better to
have anyway because if your hard drive dies you won't be able to use the
recovery image on the D: partition in any case.

I do have a recovery disk, but didn't know if it would restore everything
that was on the D drive. Everything is working still so didn't really want
to restore my system totally back to original. Just wondered if anything on
the recovery disk would restore what was on D drive only. I have contacted
Gateway but tech I talked to wasn't real sure what would happen. Hope that
made sense.

If you have a spare harddrive that you can use to test the recovery discs on
you could get a definitive answer.

My HP recovery hasn't got an option to restore just the recovery partition.
When I lost access to the partition after removing a dual-boot Vista RC1
installation, a standard recovery (non-destructive) did restore normal
access to the recovery partion. In that case the files were still present on
the partition but the boot options to access the recovery partition had been
removed or corrupted.
