can't read contents of cd ie7 frustrated 6/5/2007 3:54:01 PM On my laptop(Toshiba, windows xp sp2) I can read a cd, all of the 662 mpg files but 14 files wouldn't copy to hard disk. On my 1 desktop I can copy all the files, write them to a new cd and then copy them all to the laptop. On a 2nd desktop it show me 0 files 0bytes when I insert the cd. On all 3 pcs I can read and write any other cd. Any helpfull ideas please

If you copy that CD will the new CD be able to be read? IE will all files copy to your hard drive? If CD-RW is the same title (Easy Media Creator / Nero etc) and version of packet writing installed on all the computers? Maybe it's time to get a flash drive.

Some PCs are better than others at recovering from errors, which explains the different performance from your three machines.
