If you want full use of the new graphics interface of Vista, then you should get a DX10 compatible video card; currently the nVidia based 8500 GT at about $80 US is a good entry-level DX10 compatible video card. The Intel D101GGC motherboard is obsolete, and will not accept current Intel CPUs (Core 2). Not only that, it has built-in, though not particularly good, video, and does not need a video card. This motherboard uses DDR memory, which is now obsolete. The Intel E4400 Core 2 Duo is about $112 US, earlier Intel CPUs are now obsolete. Limiting your memory to 1 GByte is probably a mistake, especially since memory has become very cheap again (2 X 1 GByte DDR2 can be less that about $80 US. Limiting your hard drive to 120 GBytes is probably a mistake, especially since much larger drives have gotten so inexpensive (500 GByte hard drive can be had for less than $100 US.) All in all, your list of components seem like a mistake to me, choosing a system that is already two years out of date is a bad way to start. The money you would spend on upgrading to Vista from Windows XP Pro would be much better spent on an up-to-date system. Don't go with your current list. Post your questions in a hardware newsgroup; this newsgroup is for the operating system Windows XP Pro and you will get more help in a hardware newsgroup. Also you should post more details including your current system why you wish to upgrade to Windows Vista what you will use your system for. Even if you are getting a 'spectacular' deal for the 1 GByte DDR Memory, D101 GGC motherboard, 120 GByte hard drive, Celeron CPU and Geforce 7300 GT (say less than $200 US) you will have an obsolete system.
