I used to run a program built into XP that was called Disc Check or Check
Disk.
It was accessed by typing a name into the box accessed by clicking on
Start|Run.
I can't remember the name to be typed in..
Does anyone Know it?

Chkdsk There are switches for the command, start a Command Session and
use the /? switch for more information: chkdsk /? To start a Command
session type cmd in the run box and press <Enter>.
