microsd mobile memory card
Sharon 6/24/2007 6:35:00 PM
I just purchased a microsd mobile memory kit. It came with 2 adapters and a
1.0GB memory. I have a windows xp 2003 home edition computer. Where would I
insert the memory card?

Well, first, let's get clear on what you have bought.

Did the 'microsd mobile memory kit' come with two adapter that allow it to
be used in devices that take full sized SD flash memory? If this is
correct, you must have a device that uses flash memory to make use of your
purchase.

What type of computer do you have? Does it have an external slot that
accepts SD Flash Memory? If not, then you need to purchase a Flash Memory
card reader that accepts SD Flash memory cards or Micro SD Flash memory
cards. This external device plugs into a USB port on your computer. The
cost is very small, approximately $15 US.

Windows XP (Pro or Home Edition) will automatically recognize when a Flash
memory card is inserted; it will appear as a removable media device in
'Windows Explorer' with a drive letter. You can use it as you would a hard
drive.

If this does not answer your question, then please post additional
information, especially the reason for your purchase of the Flash Memory
card.

By the way, there is no Windows XP 2003; you may be thinking of a version of
Microsoft Office.

Phil,

One adapter says "SD" and the other is a smaller version that just says
"adapter". I purchased the memory card to download music to my Samsung Sync
cell phone.

I thought I would need to purchase another device in order to insert the
memory card. My computer is a Dell Windows XP, 2002 edition. It does not
have the capability to insert the memory card. Would I then purchase the
MicroSD memory flash as you suggested? If so, can you recommend a website to
purchase the item? I can purchase the item from www.sandisk.com

Please advise

Thanks

You need to find a GOOD computer store to make any necessary purchase. Take
in your newly purchased 'kit'. Ask what you need to use the card with your
computer system. You can try to do it your yourself over the internet, but
I read several misconceptions in your post that probably can not be easily
cleared up in a newsgroup.

Very likely what you need is something like
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=273032
from zipzoomfly.com .

But I am not completely sure from your posts WHAT you need, so I suggest an
in person purchase. You should provide the EXACT model and description of
your Dell Computer.

'2002 edition' has nothing to do with either Windows XP or the Dell
computer.
