Zone Alarm settings?
"Kenny" <me[ at ]privacy.net> 6/20/2007 6:12:38 AM
Laptop wirelessly connected to 3Com ADSL modem/router, desktop hard wired to
same.
Print server also connected to router.
After updating Zone Alarm laptop & desktop can't see each other and can't
print from laptop but can access internet from either.
Works OK with ZA turned off on both PC's.
In ZA zones on desktop I have:
Marvell Yukon Ethernet Adapter 192.168.1.3/255.255.255.0 Adapter Subnet
Internet
Loopback adapter 127.0.0.0 IP Address Trusted
Network 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.254 Trusted
In firewall Main tab I have Trusted Zone Security set to Medium.
XP firewall turned off.
On laptop identical settings except for 192.168.1.2 for IP address of
wireless adapter.
Desktop using XP Pro/SP2, laptop using XP Media Centre.
Have RTFM in ZA but can't get this to work right.
I'm assuming it's ZA settings since all works OK with it disabled, help with
this appreciated.

Hello Kenny,

In the Firewall page for your network range of addresses, is the
'Entry Type' shown as 'IP Range' (and not just as 'IP Address)?

Thanks for the replies. Must admit to being a novice when it comes to
networking.
Took the easy way out, removed ZA and installed Comodo which is also free.
So far all seems well.
