streaming over HTTP published on internet problem facing vinay <ligadevinay[ at ]gmail.com> 7/2/2007 6:05:28 AM Hi, I have installed WMs on windows 2k3 standerd edition server . configured the publishing point on the same. Also as per the MS document i had configured the IIS and WMs on same machine with giving TWO different IPs on port 80. I have enable the port 80 on WMS . I want my contents need to be published on internet on port 80 only not from RTSP or MMS. i had published the same using our ISA2000 server on internet . When i checked the same from internet i am able to get the first page but not able to get Video or audio file which i am able to get from interanet network. please suggest why i am not getting video's and audio file on internet through HTTP.

You didn't say which version(s) of media player you're connecting with, which can be important. WMP9 and later depracated mms protocol and it was completely removed by WMP11. These two articles probably have the most important bearing on your issue : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319381 and http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/server/faq.aspx#2_13 If you can't see something outside your network which you can from the intranet (and assuming you're using DNS and not NetBIOS name resolution) I'd be checking the NAT and Firewall settings. Actually we are checking with WMP9 & WMP11 both the version. But I am able to open the Webpage where media player is ebbeded. and its say only ready but video or audio contents is not comming.... On ISA we are using DNS only.Where i had open the port 80 only. Do i need to open 554 and 1755 for rstp and mms also...where i am publishing my video contents on HTTP port only. Also sorry to say that whatever the link you provided thats not having the solution for me.... please guide me on the same.

It doesn't matter whether you can open the web page or not. What matters is the URL passed to media player. You've asserted it's using http but I don't see your evidence for that right now. You should install Fiddler http proxy on the problem machines. http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler2/ Inspect the packet transfer when media player has loaded the page then requests the http URL, and post the complete session here.
