Video from WMS not visible in Vista? Stas 5/27/2007 1:00:00 PM Hi. I have the following problem: a video perfectly playable on Windows XP, is not visible on Vista. Video statistics show that all frames are received as usual, so this means there is no disconnection between the player and the server. The video is streamed from publishing point running on WMS server. The video to the publishing point is pushed by an application, using the IWMWriter object. Has anyone experienced the described problem, and found a solution to it? Thanks in advance, Stas.

Re: Video from WMS not visible in Vista? Stas 5/29/2007 11:46:01 AM Hi. I noticed that it sometimes does work, in 1 out of 4 times (on average). The WMP seems to be the same 11 version as on XP. Any idea if something was changed on Vista in regards to media, which causes this behavior? Thanks.

Despite the version being the same, the internals of WMP11 on Vista are very different from WMP11 on XP. On Vista, WindowsMedia stuff is played back using the new MediaFoundation framework instead of the usual WMF+DirectShow and the video is renderer using the new EVR instead of the usual VR or VMR.
