Probably a simple Question.....Web Plug-in
Mike "YO_BEE" B 4/24/2007 11:16:00 AM
I am looking to add a display to my website that shows what song is currently
playing on my radio stream, but does not utilize any of the Bandwidth.

I am a novice when it comes to programming.

Any help would be great.

What sort of radio stream is it - i.e. what program are you using to
deliver the stream ? That's really important to know.

There would need to be some mechanism to pass the current song data to
whatever you're using to play the content - I think if you're using
Shoutcast, it will embed the current track info into the MP3 stream.

You can usually read that data - some of the free Flash based music
streamer packages will be able to decode and display that while they
play your MP3. One example of that is http://www.wimpyplayer.com/
which can list a directory of files as a now playing list as well as
an XML playlist http://www.wimpyplayer.com/products/mp3/icecast.html

Well the stream is music from a WMS.

I am streaming to my forum group.

So everyone that listens to the stream is using a web page with an embedded
WMP or a Stand-alone WMP.
