If a WMV file is ok with you, you can use the WindowsMediaEncoder9 (Neil posted some sample on this group a long time ago) or, better for your specific task, the WMWriter object (see the UncompAVIToWMV sample in the WindowsMediaFormat SDK - yes, creating a WMV file from a set of BMPs or a uncompressed AVI is the same process). If you want to create AVIs, you need to either use the AVIFile functions (easy, but limited to AVI1.0 files) or DirectShow (harder, since you need to write a push source filter - see the Push sample in the latest Platform SDK). DES (= DirectShow Editing Services) might also work, but I don't know much about it. The latest Platform SDK for all Windows versions is the Windows SDK for Vista. The previous version was the Platform SDK for Windows 2003 R2.
