Changing the orientation of photos in contact sheet
yamauzura 6/20/2007 8:40:24 PM
I have several photos of different sizes that I want to print as a contact
sheet, displaying the file names. I select all the pictures from the picture
folder, click print and click contact sheet on the left pane of the print
window. For some reason the "wizard" rotates some of the pictures, making
about 2/3 of the people in my contact sheet on their side and the other 1/3
upright. Any ideas on how to change the orientation?

It's SUPPOSE to do that. Even Photoshop will do the same thing by
default. The idea behind a Contact Sheet is to put so many thumbnails
on the page in neat little placeholders. If some get shown in
Landscape mode (turned 90 degrees) that's done so they "fit" within
the confines of the space allocated.

What you're trying to do is put square pegs in round holes. Something
has to give.

If you want them all to line up like ducks in a row then start with
images all the same size otherwise you'll always end up with tossed
salad.
