Microsoft Digital image suite anniversary edition
Judy 6/12/2007 8:02:01 PM
Is there anyone who can help me to delete empty files in this programme?
When I installed the programme on my Vista laptop it listed files that I had
deleted the photos in, but I cannot find a way to delete the empty folders,
so I have empty folders with no pictures in and the photos are not in either
my pictures or my microsoft digital suite but the empty folders are, no
problem deleting the photos just the remaining silly folders, any help would
be much appreciated. Many thanks Judy

If you open the DIS Library and choose
....View By / Folder...in the left pane...

You should be able to right click any folder
and choose "Remove From Library" or
"Delete" from the menu.

BTW...there's a Vista Compatibility update
for Digital Image Suite 2006:

MS Digital Image 2006
*Vista Compatibility* Update
http://tinyurl.com/w5u58
(Not required for the Anniversary Edition)

Try it in Safe Mode.

Windows Vista -
What Is Safe Mode
http://tinyurl.com/2mpeef

Windows Vista -
Start your computer in safe mode
http://tinyurl.com/397vhf

Also if you would like to empty the Library
and start over...you could delete or rename
the database and the Library will revert to
the way it was the first time you opened it.
Then you would have to catalog your images
again. Let me know if you want to do this
and I'll post the instructions.

============================

In Windows Vista...your Pictures.pd3
database file should be found at the
following location:

C:\Users\>username<\AppData\Local\
Microsoft\POD\Pictures.pd3

If you cannot find the file, it may be hidden.

On your Vista machine you can find your
database file with with an Advanced Search
for .pd3

Go to...Start / Search / Advanced Search.

Check the box..."Include non-indexed, hidden,
and system files" Enter .pd3 in the Name field
and left click the Search button.

You can delete the Pictures.pd3 file or just
rename it Pictures.OLD. The next time
you open the Library it will create a new .pd3
file and the Library will be as it was the first
time you opened it.
