Hi, Windows Media Center insists there's no TV signal for any channels. I only just got this computer plugged in so it's probably something trivial but I don't know what. The aerial is plugged directly into the computer. Thanks Rhys

What TV tuner adapter do you have?
Are there any errors in Device Manager (Sound, video and game controllers)?

Ah, yes... I have an ASUTeK Tiger Capture Device, which is apparently working properly.

In Media Center, Tasks, Settings, TV, Set up TV Signal, there is no TV signal detected?

No problems encountered when going through setup. I selected analogue terrestrial using an antenna. When I try and view Live TV, the display is black. Pressing record tells me that there is no signal.

Are there updated Vista drivers for the capture device?
Do you have a separate TV viewing application for the device from the manufacturer?

I updated the driver through the device manager and restarted, redid the setup in Media Center, no luck. I don't have a seperate TV application.

As best I can determine you Asus tuner is a hybrid DVB-T/Analog tuner which most likely means that you can only receive DVB-T programs using the the DVB-T antenna connection with MCE. What is MCE ? I tried running setup again but selected DVB-T instead of analogue, no luck. I also ran a scan for services, it didn't find any, but I know digital TV is available in my area.

I should have said MC for Media Center instead of MCE which is the XP system version. I assume that you do have an antenna connected to the digital antenna connector and not just to the analog connector. Nope, had only an analogue aerial... connected one to the digital aerial and it works ! Hurrah ! (I can only get BBC channels, but I assume that's a digital TV issue)
