downloading pics on a cd from xp to vista ,,no subtitles debra 6/27/2007 3:22:02 AM i recently purchased a new laptop with vista, was wanting to take all my pictures on cd, that was downloaded from xp and all had subtitles, but when i copy them to my new vista, all the subtitles have disappeared. any suggestions thanks -- debra

I have found Photo Gallery to corrupt data, especially on photos, by writing its own instructions over markers put there by other programs such as camera software. Sometimes it has even destroyed the jpg markers themselves, rendering the jpg unreadable. I have stopped using Photo Gallery entirely as I have found it to be completely unreliable. Have you tried moving the files using the normal file handling instead, dragging them from folder to folder?
