Vista and iTunes
dgelman 6/11/2007 10:20:00 PM
My music sounded phenomenal on XP. I just upgraded to Vista, holy S___!
I can't hear my music from iTunes nor do all the speakers function.
What a disappointment!!!
Microsoft needs to get their act together before releasing another OS to the
public without proper Beta testing.

Don't worry.
After you use Vista some more you will really grow to hate it.

Does sound work at all on your PC?

Check device manager for devices with no drivers.

It sounds like you are seeing a sound card driver problem, go to the
manufactureres web site and download the latest vista sound drivers
for your hardware.

If it is a driver issue, your problem has nothing to do with Microsoft
or the amount of beta testing they do, it is upto the hardware manufacturers
to supply compatibale drivers.

Nothing wrong with the sound, the sound check tests positive with every
speaker.
The sound only comes from the front speakers and very low volume.

Have you ran through your sound card/speaker settings? If the setting is for
only front speakers then other speakers will not work. Since you didn't list
any specifics on your computer hardware its hard to provide much help to you.

My parents seem to be having the same problem. I had the same prob when =
I did the beta testing. Now it works fine after I bought a new HP with =
Vista already installed on it. I simply love Vista now. For those who =
only upgrade, theyu seem to have all types of trouble. Sorry to hear =
about that.

I do hope that MAC does not have trouble when I upgrade to Leopard.

I too found that the HP notebook I bought with Vista installed works =
brilliantly, after a horrible experience upgrading on my desktop. So, I =
guess it's a monster to upgrade to, but pre-installed, it's workable. =
I'm still not sure it's all that much better than XP except in =

the constant unpleasant surprises. It has taken me months to get over =
the problems I still have with the desktop--I've learned to troubleshoot =
pretty effectively over time, but it's a constant battle!
