I just moved from one town to another, and had my computer in a box for less than 8 hours during the transition.
When I got my computer set up, the sound device "Realtek High Definition" was not functioning.
When I looked into my device manager, it said the device was there and functioning properly, however, no matter how many times I uninstall/install, it does the same thing.
I've tried downloading the Driver from the realtek website, and also from the Motherboard Disc provided with my computer, but to no avail.
this is just ONE of many issues I've had with this computer (ie: Drives and utilities randomly uninstalling) and so far, this is the last of those issues to be rectified.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I should make a point that the OS is Vista Basic ;)

You might want to pop the case open and make sure everything (cards, plugs, etc.) is seated properly. It might have been a bumpy ride. ;-)

I have in fact downloaded the most up-to-date drivers, multiple times. :(
I'm wondering if I'm going to have to just purchase a NEW Sound card or not...
I spent money I didn't have, and I'd rather not have to spend more just to make it work properly the way it /SHOULD/ have worked to begin with.
