The EASY way is to use either of the two most popular burning suites, either Nero or Roxio's Easy Media Creator 9. This assumes you want only to do simple copying of your HOME BREW DVD, not make any changes or just limit changes to very minor editing.
If that's all you want to do then it is as simple as inserting the source disk, saying copy, wait till the files get copied to your hard drive, put a new blank CD/DVD in and press copy again. That's it. The downside is both products cost about $80.
If you want to try the hard way Vista will "copy" the files just like any other file BUT these are VOB files and then you'll still need some kind of DVD burning software to copy them to a blank DVD IF your intend is to make them playable off any computer or set top DVD player which of course assumes the computer has a MPEG-2 decoder installed. It only comes in some version of Windows, Home Premium and Ultimate for Vista, not the other versions. XP has no support build-in, you need to purchase some third party burner software that includes the necessary codec to play off a computer as does every computer you try to play them off of.
If you want to move up, have a very good video editor combined with a excellent DVD Authoring package that can burn DVDs consider Sony's Vegas Movie Studio +DVD. About the same price as Nero or Roxio and does way more on the video/audio side. EXCELLENT product and the little brother of their flagship powerhouse video editor called Vegas, which I've used for years.
