No photos in Photo Gallery
lincmb 6/23/2007 6:56:00 AM
I have no photos or video in my windows photo gallery, the help says that
photos and videos in the pictures folder are automatically placed in photo
gallery. I have heaps of pictures in the pictures folder but nothing shows up
in photo gallery.

I try to add the pictures folder and i get a message:
"you cant add this folder to the gallery. this folder or one of its parent
folders is considered a system folder or is marked hidden, it is recommended
that you move your pictures to the pictures folder or to another folder."

What could be wrong and what can i do about it? i am very confused.

My friend John gets exactly the same problem. I read in some forum thread that a guy in this situation switched from the administrator session to someone else's session and Windows Photo Gallery would work fine. But when switching back to the administrator session, WPG crashed again.

Any idea?

Give up on Photo Gallery and use a program that works instead? Like Adobe
Album perhaps.

I'm sick of Photo Gallery corrupting my data and have stopped using it,
especially to import files with. I don't trust it. It overwrites other
programs' markers on jpgs and sometimes even corrupts the jpg itself.
