Can any help!! I accidently clicked on save instead of don't save and one of my photos is now blank, is there any way I can get it back. I have looked in the recycle bin, I tried undo, I just can't think how to find it. Julie

========================================== If you saw the dialog...Do you wish to replace xxx with xxx... and if you clicked Yes...your original has been overwritten.
No guarantees but the following steps may be worth a try.
Open Photo Gallery and select the picture you want to restore.
Click the Fix button on the toolbar.
Now you should see the Revert button.
Click the Revert button.
Good luck.

Any chance that Shadow Copies would work here?

perhaps look for a data recovery software you can try for free and see if you can find an old version of the photo?

Julie,
Look to see if the original picture is located in C:\Users\(your account)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Photo Gallery\Original Images

Interesting... just for the heck of it I took a image that was named sample and RENAMED it to a name already in use by another photo in the SAME folder. Photo Galley asked if I wanted to replace the photo which was simply named 01, and even after saying yes, it didn't overwrite the original but simply named the second file 01 (2). So I now have the original photo 01 and the renamed version named 01 (2).
Are you telling us the WHOLE story?
Windows always had double fault warning for actions like this to protect the end user from themselves. ANYTIME you rename a file or copy a file to a location where another file has the same name it asks are you sure? What EXACTLY were you doing step by step?
