Vista Newbie Blues blueprince999 6/28/2007 4:54:01 AM I upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premuim, and I'm trying to put all of my previous desktop icons (Itunes, AOL, etc.) from Windows XP. I know thefiles are still here on my PC in the C drive, but I'm clueless as to how to upload everything now that I'm upgraded to Vista. Please help...: (

Click that and in the window that opens there is an icon called transfer files and settings. Give that a try. I suspect that this is not what you did, but rather have a clean install of Vista where the old operating system is preserved in Windows.old. You may need to take ownership or change permissions to access this folder and recover data from it (just check Help & Support for the steps, it's well documented).
