Actually, you are - they aren't padded by a power-saving "do nothing" idle state. You may not be using all of the CPU, but you certainly are using the CPU 100% of the time.
You won't be fully loading the PSU either, or stretching the graphixcs chipset, so problems may still arise from these when you start using HDs (PSU) and 3D or "advanced" graphics (SVGA and PSU).
