Verify with the program manufacturers their programs are compatible
with Windows Vista and install whatever patches they may have.
Do you have the latest Windows vista drivers?
Try Compatibility Mode:
Right click the program icon
Click Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Otherwise post specifics in an appropriate newsgroup and someone
should be able to help.
Before installing Windows Vista, did you verify Windows Vista
compatibility:

The Upgrade Advisor is just that an advisor.
You should still verify all your essential hardware and software is
