I just upgraded from windows xp to windows vista home premium. when i did so
my display will not fill out the entire screen and i see no option to make it
larger. does anybody know how i can fix this? its not very fun to have a
large laptop with a a big screen to watch movies if only a smaller square
inside of it is usable.

Set your Windows resolution to match the native dimensions of the LCD. e.g.
For a Dell D620 with the widescreen display, 1280x800.

If Windows didn't do that automatically, it quite possibly didn't load the
display driver, go to the maker of the laptop's website and download the
display driver from them.

If updating the display driver doesn't work, and you set the display to the
native resolution of the LCD, have you tried the manual controls on the
display?
